The Emergency Response Guide was developed to educate and assist emergency services in the safe handling of Hybrid vehciles following an accident. In particular precautions would need to be taken where site clean-up (i.e. for battery spill), vehicle recovery (i.e towing, jump starting) or occupant recovery (i.e. Jaws of Life or cutting / recovering equipment) are deemed necessary. The Emergency Reponse Guides alos provides details of the basic operation of Hybrid Vehicle components. Familiarisation  and observance of these precautions will ensure safe clean-up and correct vehcile handling mnimising any vehicle hazrads.
